About Tsushima Airport
Tsushima Airport is a domestic airport serving Tsushima Island in Nagasaki Prefecture. Opened in 1975, it was built by cutting into the top of Mount Shirenji at an elevation of about 97 metres, making it the first mountain airport in Nagasaki Prefecture.
Located in Mitsushima-cho, the airport mainly links the island with Fukuoka and Nagasaki on scheduled domestic flights. It is an essential transport connection for island residents and for visitors travelling to Tsushima's coastal and mountainous attractions.
The single two-floor terminal contains check-in counters, a security checkpoint, a souvenir shop, and a light meal corner. Free parking is available directly in front of the terminal building.
The airport is about 10 km from Izuhara, Tsushima's main town centre. Route buses, taxis, and rental cars connect the terminal with Izuhara, Hitakatsu, and other parts of the island, making it a practical starting point for exploring Tsushima.
