About Kobe Airport

Kobe Airport is a domestic and emerging international gateway serving the city of Kobe and the surrounding Kansai region. Opened on 16 February 2006 on a reclaimed island in Kobe Bay, it is operated by Kansai Airports Kobe and is known by the nickname Marine Air.

The airport has a single 2,500-metre runway and two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights and includes a four-floor terminal building with arrivals on the first floor and departures on the second, while Terminal 2 opened in April 2025 to serve international charter flights.

Located about 8 km from central Kobe, the airport is directly connected to Sannomiya, the city's main transport hub, by the Port Liner automated train in around 18 minutes. Taxis, buses, and road links via the Kobe Sky Bridge also provide onward travel options.

With restaurants, shops, a food court, a lounge, observation decks, and free Wi-Fi, the airport offers a compact and convenient passenger experience for travelers to Kobe, Osaka, Himeji, and nearby destinations.
