Surin Bhakdi Airport is a small regional airport serving Surin city and Surin Province in northeastern Thailand. Located in the Nok Mueang subdistrict of Mueang Surin district, it lies close to the city centre and about 50 km from the Cambodian border, providing a local gateway for domestic and general aviation traffic.
The airport has a modest operating history. It opened for passenger service between 2002 and 2003, when Air Andaman was the sole carrier, and later reopened in 2013. It was briefly served by Nok Air; since then, scheduled commercial activity has been limited, and the airport mainly supports regional, charter, and general aviation flights.
Surin Bhakdi Airport is owned by the Surin Provincial Administrative Organisation and operated by Thailand's Department of Airports, making it unusual among Thai airports for its local government ownership. Its single runway and compact passenger terminal are designed for small aircraft and low-volume operations.
