About Poltava International Airport
Poltava International Airport, also known as Poltava (Suprunivka) Airport, is a regional international airport serving the city of Poltava and the surrounding Poltava region in central Ukraine. Located near the village of Suprunivka, it sits approximately 7 km west of central Poltava beside the M-03 (E40) Kyiv–Kharkiv highway.
The airport has a long aviation history in the area, with the current terminal building opened in 1985. After a large-scale reconstruction completed in 2017–2018, the airport received international status and began serving modern aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. In March 2019 it welcomed its first international flight after a long break, marking its return to active commercial service.
The passenger complex consists of a single two-storey terminal handling domestic and international flights, with check-in, security, arrivals and waiting areas grouped in one compact building. This layout keeps walking distances short and makes pre-flight formalities quick and straightforward compared with larger hubs.
Poltava is connected to the airport by road, with taxis, ride-hailing services, route buses toward Suprunivka and private transfers providing the main links to the city centre.
