About Songyuan Chaganhu Airport
Songyuan Chaganhu Airport is a domestic airport serving Songyuan and the surrounding Chagan Lake area in western Jilin Province. Opened in 2017, it brought the city's first regular air service and improved access for leisure and business travelers.
Located about 30 km from the city centre, near Chaganhu Village in Qian Gorlos Mongol Autonomous County, the airport has a single terminal building, a 2,500-metre runway and five aircraft parking stands. It is designed to handle around 400,000 passengers a year.
The airport mainly serves domestic routes, including connections to Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an and other Chinese cities. It is especially convenient for visitors travelling to Chagan Lake, known for its winter fishing tradition and nature reserve.
