About Siorapaluk Heliport

Siorapaluk Heliport is a small public heliport serving Siorapaluk, one of the northernmost settlements in Greenland. It is the northernmost aerodrome in Greenland with scheduled civilian flights and is operated by Greenland Airports (Mittarfeqarfiit).

The heliport sits in the Avannaata municipality by the Robertson Fjord, about 50 km northwest of Qaanaaq. Air Greenland provides scheduled helicopter flights to Qaanaaq Airport (NAQ) under a government service contract, making the helicopter the settlement's main year-round link to the rest of the region.

Siorapaluk has no road connections, so arrival by helicopter is one of the only reliable ways to reach the settlement, alongside boat travel in the open-water season and dog sled or snowmobile travel in winter. Passengers should expect a simple, weather-dependent operation with minimal terminal facilities.

Despite its remote setting, the heliport plays an essential role for a community of a few dozen residents and for visitors travelling to the far north of Greenland. Onward journeys, accommodation and local activities are usually arranged in Qaanaaq or through local contacts before travel.
