About Simferopol International Airport
Simferopol International Airport is the main civil airport serving Simferopol and the Crimean Peninsula. Opened in its current form in April 2018, the modern terminal was built to replace the airport's earlier passenger facilities and to handle domestic and international air traffic through a single terminal complex.
The airport is located approximately 14 km northwest of central Simferopol, near the village of Ukromnoye. Its wave-shaped terminal, known as the Crimean Wave, was named after the Russian painter Ivan Aivazovsky in 2018.
Ground access is provided by road, with buses, taxis, private transfers and express bus services linking the terminal to Simferopol and to coastal destinations including Yalta, Alushta, Sevastopol and Yevpatoria.
Regular scheduled flights to and from Simferopol have been suspended since February 2022. The airport remains the main aviation facility serving Crimea and the surrounding region.
