Siegerland Airport (SGE)

Siegerland Airport is a regional airport serving Siegen and the wider Siegerland region. Opened in 1967, it developed from an earlier landing ground and now operates as a compact gateway for business aviation, general aviation, charter and cargo traffic at the meeting point of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.

The airport is located near Burbach, about 16 km south of Siegen, directly off the B54 road and close to the A45 motorway. Its 1,620 m asphalt runway is equipped with an instrument landing system, and the airport supports both visual and instrument flight rules, with additional grass strips and facilities for helicopters, gliders and ultralight aircraft. There are no scheduled airline services.

Its compact passenger terminal has check-in counters, baggage facilities, seating for around 100 passengers, a VIP lounge and a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the apron. Around 200 free parking spaces are available directly in front of the terminal, and ground-floor access supports passengers with reduced mobility.

For onward travel, the airport can be reached by car, taxi and local bus, with the nearest bus stop at Burbach-Lippe, Zollhaus. Its central position makes it a practical entry point for business travel across the Siegerland region and surrounding parts of western Germany.
