About the Event
gamescom 2027 runs from 23 to 29 August 2027 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. The week opens with gamescom dev, the official developer conference, which brings industry professionals to the Koelnmesse Confex from 23 to 25 August. The public programme is introduced by gamescom Opening Night Live on the evening of 24 August, a live show of world premieres and game announcements.
25 August is Business and Media Day. The trade-only business area opens on this day and continues on 26 and 27 August, giving publishers, developers, platform holders, service providers, investors and media a quieter setting for meetings, product presentations and deal-making away from the public halls. The gamescom biz platform supports B2B matchmaking and networking, while the invitation-only gamescom invest circle arranges meetings between early-stage studios and investors.
From 26 to 29 August the entertainment area opens to the public. Visitors can try new and upcoming games, explore gaming hardware and merchandise, watch stage shows and e-sports, and take part in community activities. The cosplay village and the Indie Arena Booth for independent developers add to the on-site programme.
The gamescom congress takes place on 26 August and focuses on the role of computer and video games in society and the economy. It brings together representatives from politics, science, business, education, health and the games industry to discuss topics such as AI, digital culture, sustainability and social innovation.
