About Sibiu International Airport
Sibiu International Airport is the main air gateway to Sibiu and the wider Transylvania region in central Romania. Located about 3 km west of the city centre, it provides scheduled and seasonal charter connections to European destinations and serves both leisure and business travellers.
The airport operates from a single modern passenger terminal of around 22,400 m², with separate Schengen and non-Schengen departure areas. Romania's full Schengen membership means passengers on many European routes move through without border formalities, while non-Schengen flights use dedicated controls.
Ground connections are simple: local bus line 21 links the airport with Sibiu railway station and the edge of the historic old town, and taxis and car rental desks are available directly outside arrivals. The short distance makes the city centre quick to reach by road.
With a Business Lounge, café, shops, duty free, Wi-Fi, charging points and accessibility services, the airport offers a compact and convenient passenger experience for visitors arriving in Romania's Transylvania region.
