About the Event
UNTOLD Festival 2027, billed as the Star Edition, is the twelfth edition of one of the world's largest electronic music festivals. It takes place over four days and nights from 5 to 8 August 2027 in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania. The festival has finished third in DJ Mag's Top 100 Festivals poll in 2024, 2025 and 2026, behind only Tomorrowland and EDC Las Vegas.
The event is built into the city rather than held in a remote field. The main stage stands inside Cluj Arena, a stadium with around 30,000 seats, while the other stages spread through the adjacent Central Park and into the BTarena indoor hall. In 2026 the festival operated nine stages with more than 200 artists, covering EDM, house, techno, trance, drum and bass, hip-hop and pop.
The main stage blends global electronic headliners with live pop acts. In 2026 the main-stage bill included Lewis Capaldi, Zara Larsson, Sting, Flo Rida, Martin Garrix, Marshmello and The Chainsmokers. For 2027, organizers have confirmed that the first headliner is already secured, though the artist has not yet been announced.
UNTOLD reported more than 500,000 admissions over four days in 2026, with daily attendance between 120,000 and 135,000. The audience combines Romanian fans with a large international crowd, and more than 40,000 passes for the 2027 edition were sold within roughly a year of the announcement.
UNTOLD began in 2015, when Cluj-Napoca held the title of European Youth Capital, and it has returned every August since, apart from the 2020 pandemic cancellation. A distinctive feature is the main stage, which is rebuilt each year around new designs inspired by Romanian fairy tales and folklore, giving each edition its own visual identity.
Across the four days, attendees can move between stadium-scale headline shows, club-focused house and techno in BTarena, trance, urban music and smaller stages throughout the festival grounds in and around Central Park.
