About Sasstown Airport
Sasstown Airport is a small airfield serving Sasstown, a coastal community in Grand Kru County, southeastern Liberia. It provides a local aviation link for the town and surrounding area and is identified by the IATA code SAZ.
The airfield has a single runway and limited infrastructure. It was renovated in 1974 but was considered unusable later that same year, and in April 2019 plans were announced to introduce a domestic commercial airline service for the area.
Located close to the Atlantic coast and the centre of Sasstown, the airport is reached by local roads. Greenville lies around 78 km to the northwest and Harper is another town to the southeast, making the airfield a potential connection point for communities along the southeastern Liberian coast.
