About Greenville/Sinoe Airport

Greenville/Sinoe Airport is a small airfield serving Greenville, the capital of Sinoe County in southeastern Liberia. It is also known as R.E. Murray Airport, named for Richard E. Murray, a delegate to Liberia's 1847 constitutional convention. The airfield mainly handles humanitarian, charter and regional flights, with ASPEN and MAF among its primary users.

Located about 4 km northwest of central Greenville, the airport provides an important air link for a coastal county where road access can be difficult, especially during the rainy season. Its single laterite-surfaced runway, oriented 02/20, serves small aircraft rather than large commercial jets.

The terminal is compact and offers basic passenger screening, ground handling and aircraft parking. Runway lighting, refuelling and weather reporting are not available, so operations are generally limited to daylight and pre-arranged flights.

Travellers continue from the airfield to Greenville and nearby areas by taxi or arranged vehicle, with the town's port and coastal surroundings lying close by. Although facilities are modest, the airport remains a valuable connection point for Sinoe County and its wider region.
