About Roberts International Airport
Roberts International Airport is the principal international airport serving Liberia and the main gateway to Monrovia. Named after Joseph Jenkins Roberts, the country's first president, it is located near the town of Harbel in Margibi County, about 56 km from central Monrovia.
The airport has long served as Liberia's key aviation hub, with a single asphalt runway of about 3,353 metres. A major upgrade and expansion completed in late 2017 delivered a new two-level passenger terminal with jet bridges, modern baggage handling, security and immigration systems.
Scheduled services connect Monrovia with regional West African destinations and intercontinental points such as Brussels, Addis Ababa and Casablanca. Arriving travelers typically continue to Monrovia and other parts of Liberia by road.
Ground access relies mainly on road links along the Roberts Highway, with taxis, private transfers, rental cars and buses providing onward travel to the city centre and surrounding areas.
