About Pakse International Airport
Pakse International Airport is the main international airport serving Pakse and the surrounding Champasak Province in southern Laos. The airport provides domestic and regional connections and acts as the primary air gateway to the Bolaven Plateau, the Wat Phou temple complex and the Si Phan Don area.
The airport has been in use since 1959 and was renovated before reopening in 2009. Its single passenger terminal is designed in a Lan Xang-style temple architecture, and a new control tower was added next to the terminal to handle air traffic operations.
Located about 3 km from central Pakse, the airport handles flights to Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Savannakhet, as well as regional international destinations such as Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Siem Reap. Lao Airlines and Lao Skyway operate services from the airport.
Taxis, tuk-tuks and pre-arranged transfers connect the terminal to Pakse city centre and destinations across southern Laos, making the airport a convenient arrival point for the region.
