Norderney Airport is the island airfield serving Norderney, one of Germany's East Frisian Islands in Lower Saxony. Opened in 1970 next to the island's lighthouse, it provides a compact arrival point for scheduled island flights, charter traffic, private aircraft and sightseeing flights over the Wadden Sea.
The airport has a single asphalt runway of around 1,000 metres and one small terminal handling passenger and general aviation operations. It mainly connects Norderney with the mainland at Norddeich and supports flights to neighbouring East Frisian islands as well as scenic flights over the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea.
Located about 4.5 km east of Norderney town centre, the airport has no rail link, so onward travel is by taxi, local bus or bicycle. Norderney is largely car-free, making the bicycle a common way to reach hotels, beaches and other island destinations.
With its small terminal, airport restaurant and views across the North Sea coast, the airfield works as a practical regional gateway for visitors arriving by air and for travellers exploring the East Frisian Islands.
