About Norden-Norddeich Airport
Norden-Norddeich Airport is a small regional airfield on Germany's North Sea coast, close to the Norddeich ferry port. Built in 1968–1969 by the Reederei Norden-Frisia, it served for decades as the mainland departure point for short flights to the East Frisian islands of Norderney and Juist.
The airfield has one asphalt runway of 720 metres and a compact handling building with a passenger waiting hall. Rather than large terminal facilities, it is laid out for small island aircraft and general aviation, with offshore helicopter and drone operations now part of its activity.
Located about 4 km north of Norden's centre and a short drive from Norddeich Mole, the airport is easily reached by road. From here, travelers can continue to the Norddeich ferry terminal for island connections or into Norden for rail, bus and road links across East Frisia.
As a small airfield, it offers a simple and compact travel experience with limited on-site amenities, so most dining, shopping and overnight options are found in nearby Norddeich and Norden.
