About Noi Bai International Airport
Noi Bai International Airport is the main international airport serving Hanoi and the surrounding northern Vietnam region. Opened in 1978, it replaced Gia Lam Airport as the capital's primary aviation gateway and has since become one of Vietnam's most important airports.
The airport operates two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights, while the newer Terminal 2, opened in 2014, serves international arrivals and departures. Together they support a wide range of domestic and international connections for leisure and business travelers.
Located about 30 km north of central Hanoi in Soc Son District, the airport is connected to the city by public buses including Route 86, taxis, ride-hailing services, private transfers and road links across the Nhat Tan and Thang Long bridges.
