Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is the main international airport serving Abuja, Nigeria's capital, and the surrounding Federal Capital Territory. Opened in 1982, it has grown into a key gateway for central and northern Nigeria and a hub for domestic and international travel.
Located approximately 40 km from the city centre, ABV connects Abuja with destinations across Nigeria and international cities in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. A new international terminal was inaugurated in December 2018 alongside the existing domestic terminal, improving check-in, immigration, baggage and passenger handling capacity.
