Yola International Airport serves Yola, Jimeta and Adamawa State in northeastern Nigeria. It is located in Jimeta, about 8 km northwest of central Yola. The airport was commissioned on 27 October 1984 and upgraded to international status in 2002, and today it mainly handles domestic flights.
The airport has a single terminal building and a 3,000-metre asphalt runway. It is owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and operated by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). Domestic airlines including Azman Air, Max Air and Overland Airways connect Yola with Lagos and Abuja, while UNHAS operates humanitarian flights in the region.
