About Nenjiang Melgen Airport
Nenjiang Melgen Airport is a general aviation airport serving Nenjiang City in Heihe, Heilongjiang Province, northeastern China. It grew out of the Nenjiang Aerial Forest Protection Station and received its general aviation airport licence in 2015, with short-haul passenger services formally beginning on 27 July 2018.
Located in Hongxing Village, Haijiang Town, about 10 km southwest of central Nenjiang, the airport mainly supports domestic short-haul flights to Harbin and Heihe. It was the first general aviation airport in China to connect with a hub airport through short-haul transport services, linking Nenjiang to Harbin Taiping International Airport.
The airport has a single compact terminal, a 1,200-metre runway and a small apron, designed for light aircraft such as the King Air 350. Passengers can reach the city by free shuttle bus, taxi, private transfer or road, with travel to central Nenjiang taking roughly 15 to 20 minutes in normal traffic.
Alongside passenger services, the airport supports aerial forest protection, flight training, low-altitude sightseeing and aviation science education, and hosts China's northernmost skydiving base during operating seasons.
