Nanping Wuyishan Airport is the main airport serving Wuyishan in northern Fujian Province and the closest gateway to the Mount Wuyi scenic area. Opened to civil aviation in 1994, the airport operates as a 4C-class civil and military airport and is designated as a first-class air port open to international flights.
The airport lies along Wuyi Avenue in Wuyishan, roughly 5–7 kilometres from the city centre and about 40 kilometres from the Jianyang district of Nanping. Its single passenger terminal is divided into domestic and international sections and handles domestic routes across China as well as limited international services.
