About Nanchong Gaoping Airport
Nanchong Gaoping Airport serves Nanchong and the wider northeastern Sichuan region as a domestic regional airport. Construction began in 2002 and the airport opened in 2004, connecting the city with major destinations across China.
Located in Gaoping District, about 7.5 km from downtown Nanchong, the airport offers domestic flights to cities such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Kunming, Urumqi and Lhasa. Its current passenger terminal, T2, opened in December 2019 and handles arrivals and departures for the airport's airline partners.
The airport is reached from the city by shuttle bus, city bus line 10, taxis, private transfers and road links, with a typical drive to the city centre of around 15 minutes depending on traffic.
Passenger facilities include a lounge and dining and rest areas, and the terminal provides straightforward onward travel options for visitors arriving in and departing from the Nanchong area.
