About Nakhchivan International Airport
Nakhchivan International Airport is the main air gateway serving Nakhchivan, the capital of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. As the only airport in this landlocked exclave, it links the region with the rest of Azerbaijan and international destinations.
The airport was commissioned in the 1970s and gained international status in 2004 after a new terminal was built between 2002 and 2004. Its passenger terminal was later reconstructed in 2015, increasing passenger handling capacity and adding improved facilities.
Located about 4 km from the city centre, the airport has one two-level passenger terminal and two runways. Azerbaijan Airlines has served destinations including Baku, Istanbul and Moscow from the airport.
