About Zabrat Airport
Zabrat Airport is a public-use airfield serving Baku and the northern Absheron Peninsula. Located northeast of the city, it is best known as the home base of Silk Way Helicopter Services and mainly handles helicopter, light aircraft and business aviation traffic.
Until 2008 the airport belonged to Azerbaijan Airlines; that year it was privatised and transferred to Silk Way Helicopter Services, part of Silk Way Holding. Its compact terminal includes arrival and departure halls, a VIP lounge, briefing rooms, check-in counters and a café.
The airfield has an asphalt runway of about 969 metres, a grass runway and helipads that support helicopter operations. It complements Baku's main international gateway, Heydar Aliyev International Airport, for specialist aviation activity in the capital region.
Situated roughly 15 to 18 kilometres northeast of central Baku, the airport is reached by road, taxi or private transfer, making it convenient for helicopter charters, business aviation and transfers across the Absheron area.
