About Mohe Gulian Airport
Mohe Gulian Airport is a domestic airport serving Mohe in the Daxing'anling region of northern Heilongjiang Province. As China's northernmost airport and the first Chinese airport built on permafrost, it plays an important role in connecting this remote area with the rest of the country.
The airport opened in June 2008 and later underwent expansion and renovation, closing from 2021 until it reopened in January 2023. The runway was extended to 2,800 meters and a new 6,300-square-meter Terminal 2 was added, while the older Terminal 1 was taken out of passenger use.
Located about 9 kilometers from downtown Mohe, the airport serves domestic routes to cities such as Harbin, Beijing and other destinations in northern China. Travelers typically continue by taxi, since there is no regular airport shuttle bus, with the drive to central Mohe taking roughly 20 minutes.
For visitors heading to Beiji Village and other northern Heilongjiang attractions, the airport functions as a practical gateway. Its compact terminal and simple layout help keep the arrival and departure process relatively straightforward for leisure and regional travelers.
