Los Perales Airport (BHA)

Los Perales Airport is a small public airfield serving Bahía de Caráquez and the San Vicente canton on Ecuador's northern Manabí coast. Opened in 1950, it once supported regular domestic flights and was among Ecuador's busiest airports by operations in the late 1980s. Situated in San Vicente across the Chone River from Bahía de Caráquez, the airport is reached via the Los Caras bridge, which links the two towns and the surrounding coastal area. It has a single asphalt runway of about 2,203 metres and one small terminal building. Scheduled commercial passenger services are no longer operating at Los Perales, and the airfield now serves mainly general aviation, charter, state and emergency flights. Most commercial travellers use Eloy Alfaro International Airport in Manta, roughly 80 km to the south. Despite its limited facilities, the airport remains a local aviation point for the northern Manabí coast, with road connections to San Vicente, Bahía de Caráquez, Canoa and other nearby destinations.
