Kullorsuaq Heliport (KHQ)

Kullorsuaq Heliport is the main air link serving Kullorsuaq, the northernmost settlement in the Upernavik Archipelago of northwestern Greenland. The village lies on Kullorsuaq Island at the southern end of Melville Bay, and the heliport supports domestic helicopter connections for this remote coastal community.

The facility is a small helistop with a gravel landing area rather than a conventional airport with passenger terminals. It is served by Air Greenland under a government service contract, with flights connecting Kullorsuaq to Upernavik and other settlements in the district.

The heliport is located in the western part of the village, roughly 2 km from the center and at an elevation of about 45 metres. Movement within Kullorsuaq is mostly on foot or by short local transport, while longer journeys require onward helicopter travel via Upernavik.

Because of its remote Arctic setting, travelers should expect simple, small-scale facilities at the heliport rather than the shops, lounges, and dining options found at larger airports. Advance planning is useful, especially in poor weather, when helicopter schedules in Greenland can change.
