Kokshetau International Airport (KOV)

Kokshetau International Airport serves the city of Kokshetau and the surrounding Akmola Region in northern Kazakhstan. Opened in 1945 and comprehensively modernized in 2013, it now provides a compact, functional gateway for both business and leisure travelers.

Located approximately 12.5 km northeast of central Kokshetau, the airport operates through a single passenger terminal with a capacity of around 200 passengers per hour and two passenger boarding bridges. Its 2,850-metre runway allows it to receive a wide range of aircraft on domestic and international routes.

The airport is reached mainly by taxi, private transfer or road via the A13 highway, with typical journeys to the city centre taking around 15 to 20 minutes. Regular public bus service to the terminal is limited.

As the closest airport to the Burabay (Borovoe) resort area, Kokshetau International Airport plays an important role for visitors travelling to the lakes, forests and national parks around Shchuchinsk and Burabay, as well as for domestic connections such as Almaty and Aktau.
