About Kherson International Airport
Kherson International Airport is a regional airport serving the city of Kherson and the surrounding Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. It is located near Chornobaivka, roughly 10 km northwest of central Kherson, and has historically acted as a gateway for domestic and international travel in the region.
The airport's history dates back to 1946, and it was reopened in April 2013 after a major reconstruction. Its infrastructure includes a single passenger terminal and a runway of about 2,500 m, designed to handle regional and international passenger services.
The airport is connected to Kherson by road, with buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars providing access to the city center and nearby areas.
Following the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the airport and its surroundings became a site of heavy fighting, and the terminal and runway were severely damaged. As a result, regular passenger operations at KHE have been suspended.
