About Kangding Airport
Kangding Airport is the main airport serving Kangding, the capital of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in western Sichuan Province, China. Opened in October 2008, it sits at an elevation of about 4,280 metres, making it one of the world's highest airports.
The airport is located around 40 km northwest of Kangding city centre and mainly handles domestic flights, with scheduled connections linking the region to Chengdu and other destinations in China.
