Iași International Airport is the main airport serving Iași and the Moldova region of northeastern Romania. Opened in 1926, it is one of the oldest airports in the country and today functions as an important gateway for domestic and international travel, including connections to the nearby Republic of Moldova. The airport's passenger operations are concentrated in Terminal 4, a modern terminal opened in 2024 that handles domestic and Schengen flights. Terminal 3, located about 50 metres away, serves arrivals from non-Schengen destinations, while older terminal buildings are used for administrative and planned cargo functions. Located about 8 km east of the city centre, the airport is connected to Iași by public bus route 50, taxis, private transfers and road links. Bus services run frequently between the airport, the city centre and Iași railway station, making onward travel straightforward.
