About Hannover Airport
Hannover Airport is the main international airport serving Hannover and the Lower Saxony region of northern Germany. Opened in 1952 as Hannover-Langenhagen Airport, it has developed into an important gateway for domestic, European and international travel, including many leisure and trade fair routes.
Located about 11 km north of central Hannover in Langenhagen, the airport is close to the A2 and A352 motorways and is connected to the city by the S-Bahn line S5, which reaches Hannover Hauptbahnhof in about 17 minutes. Buses, taxis, private transfers and rental cars provide additional onward options.
Passenger services operate through Terminals A, B and C, with a smaller Terminal D reached via Terminal C. The terminals provide check-in, security screening, arrivals and baggage claim areas, together with shops, restaurants, lounges and other passenger facilities.
With its position near the Hannover Messe exhibition centre and the wider Lower Saxony region, the airport serves both business and leisure travellers and is a convenient starting point for journeys to destinations such as Celle, Hildesheim and the surrounding area.
