About Handan Airport
Handan Airport is a domestic airport serving the city of Handan and surrounding areas at the meeting point of Hebei, Henan, Shanxi and Shandong. Opened in August 2007, it functions as a regional feeder airport providing convenient air links for the wider Handan area.
Located in Hanshan District southwest of central Handan, roughly 11 km from Handan Railway Station, the airport connects the city to domestic destinations such as Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It currently operates through a single passenger terminal, while a new, larger terminal is under construction to improve capacity and passenger services.
The airport is linked to the city by a free airport shuttle bus, city bus line 604 and taxis, with a taxi journey to the city centre taking around 30 minutes under normal traffic. Intercity buses also connect the airport with nearby Xingtai and Handan East High Speed Railway Station.
With its check-in counters, VIP lounge and onward travel options, the airport serves as a practical gateway for travellers visiting Handan and the surrounding border region.
