About Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main international airport serving Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, and a major aviation hub for the Pearl River Delta and southern China. The current airport opened in August 2004, replacing the original Baiyun Airport.

The airport has grown into one of China's busiest aviation gateways. Terminal 2 opened in April 2018, and Terminal 3 and a fifth runway began operations in October 2025, making it the first civil airport in China to operate five commercial runways. Terminal 1 is temporarily closed for renovation, while passenger flights are handled by Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

The airport is located about 28 km north of central Guangzhou in Huadu District. Metro Line 3, airport buses, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services and rental cars connect it to the city centre, the Canton Fair complex and destinations across the Pearl River Delta.

With modern terminals, shopping, dining, lounges and onward transport links, the airport serves as a key gateway for business and leisure travellers arriving in southern China.
