About Guanghan Airport
Guanghan Airport is a general aviation airfield serving Guanghan, a county-level city under Deyang in Sichuan province, southwest China. Originally built in 1944 as a military airfield known as Kwanghan Airfield, it was converted to civilian use in 1956 and is now operated by the Civil Aviation Flight University of China for pilot training.
Located about 6 km northwest of central Guanghan, the airport sits in the Chengdu Plain near Deyang and roughly 23 km from Chengdu. It has no scheduled commercial flights, but it functions as a training airport and a listed alternate for Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
The airfield has a single asphalt runway, numbered 13/31 and about 2,200 metres long, and is classified as a 4C general aviation airport. Road links connect it to Guanghan, Deyang, and the wider Chengdu metropolitan area, while rail services are available from Guanghan.
As a specialised training facility, the airport concentrates on pilot training operations rather than commercial passenger services. Visitors, students, and staff mainly use private road transport, taxis, rental cars, or pre-arranged transfers to reach surrounding towns and cities.
