Garze Gesar Airport is a domestic high-altitude airport serving Garze County and the wider Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in western Sichuan. It opened on 16 September 2019 and sits at an elevation of 4,068 metres, making it one of China's civil airports located above 4,000 metres. The airport lies near the border of Laima Town in Garze County and Cuo'a Town in Dege County, about 52 km by road from Garze Town. Its single terminal has four check-in counters, four boarding gates and two jet bridges, and it supports regional domestic flights such as the connection to Chengdu. GZG is reached mainly via National Highway G317, with taxis, airport bus services and private transfers continuing to Garze Town, Dege and other parts of the prefecture. Terminal facilities include a VIP lounge, mother-and-baby room, first-aid and accessible amenities, and oxygen supply systems suited to the high-altitude environment.
