About Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt Airport is the main international airport serving Frankfurt and the surrounding Rhine-Main region. Opened in 1936, it has grown into one of Europe's most important aviation hubs and a major gateway for Germany.
Located about 12 km southwest of central Frankfurt, the airport provides connections to domestic and international destinations and serves both leisure and business travellers. Its terminal infrastructure combines the long-established Terminal 1 with the new Terminal 3, which opened in April 2026.

Terminal 1, with concourses A, B, C and Z, handles Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance flights, while Terminal 3, with piers G, H and J, opened in April 2026 and serves the airlines that previously operated from Terminal 2, which is currently closed.
