Enontekiö Airport (ENF) is a small regional airport serving the municipality of Enontekiö and the wild landscapes of north-western Finnish Lapland, close to the borders with Sweden and Norway. It acts as a seasonal gateway for winter charter passengers, with most traffic arriving from the United Kingdom and other European markets around the Christmas period.
Opened in 1980, the airport is one of Finland's smallest and, at roughly 300 metres above sea level, the highest airport in the country. Passenger operations run from a single compact terminal, and scheduled traffic is limited, with charter flights carrying the large majority of passengers.
The airport is located about 9–11 kilometres west of Hetta, the municipal centre of Enontekiö. Taxis, pre-booked transfers, shuttles and rental cars connect the terminal with Hetta and onward destinations such as Kilpisjärvi, Muonio, Levi and Kautokeino in Norway.
Facilities are modest but practical, including a café, a small shop, car rental and parking. The airport mainly serves travellers heading to Lapland's national parks, wilderness areas, reindeer and husky experiences and winter activities.
