About Eloy Alfaro International Airport
Eloy Alfaro International Airport is the main airport serving Manta and the surrounding Manabí province on Ecuador's central coast. It operates as a mixed-use civil and military facility and is one of the busiest airports in Ecuador, serving as an alternate for Quito and Guayaquil.
After the 2016 earthquake damaged the terminal, the airport was rebuilt with a new 5,000 square metre passenger terminal, a nine-storey control tower and parking for more than 130 vehicles. The modernised terminal became operational in February 2021.
The airport handles domestic flights to Quito with LATAM and Avianca, as well as international services to Panama City with Copa Airlines, connecting Manta to onward destinations across the Americas.
Located about 3 km from central Manta, the airport is reached in roughly 10–15 minutes by taxi or road, with private transfers and rental cars available for travel to hotels, beaches and other destinations along the coast.
