About Dazhou Heshi Airport
Dazhou Heshi Airport is a former commercial airport serving Dazhou and the Dachuan District in eastern Sichuan, China. The airfield opened to public use in 1940 and for decades connected Dazhou with major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chengdu.
Located in Heshi Town, Dachuan District, about 12 km from downtown Dazhou, the airport operated from a single compact passenger terminal with a 2,000-metre runway and domestic passenger facilities. In May 2022, scheduled commercial flights were transferred to the newly opened Dazhou Jinya Airport, and Dazhou Heshi Airport shifted to a general aviation role.
Ground access to Dazhou city was provided by public bus lines and taxis, with journeys to the city centre typically taking around 30–50 minutes depending on traffic and route. Dazhou Railway Station and local coach stations were also reachable from the airport.
