About Chengde Puning Airport
Chengde Puning Airport is the main airport serving Chengde, a city in northern Hebei province known for the Chengde Mountain Resort and its surrounding temple complex. It opened to commercial traffic on 31 May 2017 and operates as a domestic regional airport.
Located about 20 kilometres northeast of the city centre in Chengde County, the airport has a single passenger terminal of around 5,000 square metres, a 2,800-metre runway and five C-class aircraft stands. It primarily supports domestic flights linking Chengde with cities such as Shijiazhuang and other destinations within China.
The airport is connected to Chengde by airport bus routes, taxis, private transfers and road links, with the city centre normally reachable in roughly 35 to 45 minutes by car. This makes it a practical gateway for visitors heading to the Mountain Resort, the Eight Outer Temples and other attractions in the region.
Although compact, the terminal provides essential passenger facilities including a VIP lounge, restrooms, a smoking area and a mother-and-baby room, along with parking at the airport.
