About Buriram Airport
Buriram Airport is a regional airport serving Buriram province and the surrounding area of northeastern Thailand, including the neighbouring province of Surin. It opened in 1996 and is operated by the Department of Airports, providing domestic connections that link the region to the rest of the country.
The airport is located in Satuek district, about 34 km north of Buriram city centre. In February 2026 a new passenger terminal opened, replacing the earlier single-storey building with a larger facility that has arrivals on the lower level and departures on the upper level. Scheduled services currently focus on domestic flights, with Thai AirAsia operating the main route between Buriram and Bangkok.
Onward travel from the airport is available by taxi, van services, private transfers, and car rental, making it possible to reach Buriram city, Surin, and local attractions such as the Chang International Circuit and Phanom Rung Historical Park.
