About Burgos Airport
Burgos Airport is the airport serving the city of Burgos and the wider province of Burgos in Castile and León. It began commercial aircraft operations on 3 July 2008, next to the former Villafría aerodrome facilities, and occupies an area of almost 230 hectares.
Located about 4 km northeast of the historic centre, it is one of the closest access points to the city and the surrounding region, including the Atapuerca archaeological site and the Camino de Santiago. The modern airport area includes a single passenger terminal of around 2,326 square metres and a car park with 188 spaces.
In recent years the airport has mainly served general aviation and pilot training, along with occasional charter flights, while remaining available for commercial passenger traffic. Passengers arriving at RGS can continue to Burgos by taxi, private transfer or urban bus services that operate in connection with flight activity.
