About Zaragoza Airport
Zaragoza Airport is the main airport serving Zaragoza and the Aragon region of northeastern Spain. It handles passenger flights alongside a significant cargo operation, and shares its site with a military air base, reflecting its joint civil-military role.
The airport's origins date back to the old Sanjurjo and Valenzuela aerodromes of the 1940s. It opened to civil traffic in 1947 and received a new passenger terminal in 2008, when the facilities were modernised for the Zaragoza International Exhibition.
Located near Garrapinillos, about 10 km southwest of central Zaragoza, the airport is reached by bus, taxi, private transfer, rental car and road links including the A-2 and A-68 motorways. The compact single terminal keeps arrivals, departures and boarding areas on the ground floor.
