Boralday Airport (BXJ)

Boralday Airport is a small airport serving Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, and the surrounding Almaty Region. Located about 5 km from central Almaty, it mainly handles general aviation, regional operations and specialist helicopter and light aircraft traffic rather than large-scale scheduled passenger services.

The airport is operated by Altair Air and serves as the main base for the Kazakh carrier Burundaiavia. Its compact infrastructure includes a single passenger terminal of about 1,501 m², an asphalt runway measuring 1,460 m by 35 m, taxiways, an apron with parking stands, a technical maintenance base and a hotel.

Boralday Airport also hosts the annual Kazakhstan airshow, reflecting its role in the country's aviation community. The airfield is suited to helicopters of various types and light aircraft such as the An-24, An-26, An-30, An-72 and An-74.

Because of its location just outside Almaty, travelers can reach the city centre and nearby areas by taxi, private transfer, or pre-arranged road transport. The airport provides a convenient entry point for private, business and general aviation travelers visiting the Almaty area.
