Beichuan Yongchang Airport (BCJ)

Beichuan Yongchang Airport is a Class A1 general aviation airport serving the Beichuan county town and the wider Mianyang region in Sichuan. It is the first A1 general aviation airport in Sichuan's ethnic minority areas and supports short-haul passenger transport, logistics, aerial tourism, flight training and emergency rescue activities.

Located about 5 km from the Beichuan county town and about 28 km by road from central Mianyang, the airport covers more than 760 acres. It has a 1,000-metre runway, a parallel taxiway, four link taxiways and a 36,000-square-metre apron, along with hangars, a terminal building and logistics areas. It can accommodate fixed-wing general aircraft of up to 20 seats, helicopters and medium-to-large unmanned aerial vehicles.

The airport began operations with its official inaugural flight in January 2024 and has since supported visual flight routes and short-haul connections within Sichuan and neighbouring areas, strengthening regional low-altitude aviation links.

Road connections allow travellers to continue by car to Beichuan, Mianyang, Anzhou and other nearby destinations, making the airport a practical entry point for regional aviation journeys.
