About Asosa Airport
Asosa Airport is a public airport serving Asosa, the capital of Ethiopia's western Benishangul-Gumuz Region. Located about 5.5 km southeast of the city, it provides the main air connection between this part of western Ethiopia and the rest of the country.
The airport operates as a small regional facility with a single passenger terminal and an asphalt runway. Ethiopian Airlines links Asosa with Addis Ababa, making the airport an important gateway for government, business and community travel to and from the region.
Road access between the airport and central Asosa is short, and travellers typically continue by taxi or pre-arranged transfer. The compact terminal keeps arrivals, baggage collection and ground transport close together, which suits the airport's domestic traffic.
Passenger facilities are basic but functional, with a small waiting area and limited refreshment or shopping options. The airport's simple layout helps travellers move quickly between check-in, security and departure.
