Tippi Airport is a small regional airfield serving Tippi (also written Tepi), a town in the coffee-producing highlands of southwest Ethiopia. The airport lies roughly 400 km southwest of Addis Ababa and has long functioned as a local air link for this remote part of the country.
The airport was served by scheduled Ethiopian Airlines flights from the 1960s and featured a single unpaved runway of about 1,302 metres. As of 2014, scheduled aviation operations at Tippi Airport have ceased and the former runway area now serves other community purposes.
Tippi town centre is located only a short distance from the airfield, making it easy to reach local guesthouses and onward transport by taxi or bajaj. The nearest operating airport is Mizan Teferi Airport, roughly 31 km away, which provides an alternative air connection for the region.
