About Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport is the main international airport serving Zurich and the wider Swiss region. It is located in Kloten, about 13 km north of the city centre, and opened in 1948, later developing into Switzerland's principal air travel hub.

Passenger services are spread across the main terminal complex and three docks: Dock A, Dock B with its B and D gate areas, and the midfield Dock E, which is connected to the Airside Center by the underground Skymetro. The airport handles domestic, Schengen and long-haul international traffic, with check-in zones, arrivals halls, shopping and dining concentrated in the central area.

The airport has its own railway station beneath the terminal, with frequent trains to Zurich Hauptbahnhof taking roughly 10-15 minutes. Buses, trams, taxis, private transfers, chauffeur services, rental cars and road links provide further connections to the city and destinations across Switzerland.

With restaurants, shops, lounges and onward travel options throughout the terminal and dock areas, Zurich Airport serves as a convenient gateway for visitors arriving in Switzerland and for connections to the Lake Zurich region, Lucerne, the Alps and other destinations.
